Seems to me there would be a conflict of interest if I publicly commented on the quality of another roaster's coffee, b/c I roast coffee. Or for that matter recommended here a certain coffee sold by the company I work for. It's simple but that's my conscience talking. It's probably more complex for others though that are actively involved in so many different organizations and participating in the discussion of coffee throughout various outlets.
