I recently started using a water distiller and Third Wave Water packets. I find the results overall positive, but am concerned about the scale build up in the distiller. I can descale it more often, but would rather keep maintenance activities to the minimum. Would throwing in an Oscar 90 pouch a couple of days before distillation be a good idea to reduce scale? (And yes, I'll obviously remove the pouch before powering on the distiller).

Thanks!

That should help. It will soften and will certainly do no harm. Here's a post doing some evaluations of the Oscar pouch - Tell me about these reservoir water softeners
