Hi Caffeine Friends!

I just ordered a Linea Micra and would like to get it plumbed in off the Los Angeles water supply.

What under-sink filtration systems would you recommend for plumbing into a La Marzocco that tastes great and meets LM's water standards?

I see Clive sells this system: https://clivecoffee.com/products/water- ... ion-system

Any other recs?

Thanks!!
Jacob

Most areas of LADWP water are very hard, and all of them have chloride ion levels above the La Marzocco recommended spec of 30 mg/L.

From https://nenc-la.org/2022/07/ladwp-water-quality-report/

That Homeland HCWS is not a bad choice as softening filters go because it would drastically reduce your hardness, and not reduce the alkalinity nor acidify the water. But the only practical way to reduce that chloride is to use a reverse osmosis (RO) system. Then a remineralizer and/or blending valve to mineralize the water.

Another option would be to ditch the Los Angeles water supply and use bottled or recipe water. That can be done with a plumb-in from carboy system: Espresso Cart - Goodbye Plumbed In
