I'm due to tear down and clean my Vetrano thoroughly. I figure I might as well replace the softener and carbon filters I bought From Chris Coffee at the same time since it's been a year.

Anyone have any ideas where to get these discount? They are on the pricey side.

UPDATE:

I went ahead and ordered from FiltersFast.com and couldn't be happier.

I ended up with these two filters:

Pentek WS-10 $18.75, which looks identical to the original cartridge I bought from Chris. The only difference I think is that the Chris filter is 850 grains (IIRC) compared to this 750 grains.

OmniFilter T01 $6.89, this is a one year or 15,000gal. carbon 5 micron NOT 10 micron that Chris sells

The order was filled fast and the customer service rep I called was knowledgeable and courteous.

Again, these are not cheap from Chris'. I'm a fan of Chris Coffee for many reasons but these filters are $50.00 combined from him. My total with shipping on the other hand was $30.00. If the difference were a couple bucks I would prefer to buy from Chris, but for this one item, I have to defer to the $20 savings.

Well I spent a decent amount of time looking for 10" replacement Carbon & Softener cartridges today. No luck. Judging by the responses to this thread, no one else has had any either.

Shoot.

If you look in the forums on the La Spaziale Vivaldi site (http://www.rimpo.org/s1/) you will find a link to a vendor who sells replacement 10" cartridges for substantially less than the individual cartridges from Chris. I searched the web and also found other vendors who sold replacements for less.

To be more specific, the web links for carbon filter cartridges to replace the 10" one sold by Chris are:

http://www.waterfilters.net/SearchByBra ... ilters.htm

or

http://www.water-filters-purifiers-soft ... hopexd.asp

Chris sells 10 micron carbon filters; you can get finer ones if you wish. The second link is less expensive than the first.

For water softener cartridges in a pack of 6 for $125 is:

If you want to read the discussion that I found these in go to:

When I was using these cartridges (not anymore; I have a whole house softener now), I bought a box of the filters and a box of the softener cartridges, from Chris. He offered me a significant discount on a case purchase (which I think was 6 of each), and I'm sure he'd offer the same to you, if you asked.

Thanks to both MDL & Ken.

Well after some searching I thinks I found the softener cartridge, or one like it, that will work. Problem is, after shipping your'e only saving a couple bucks. Unless of course you get some other carts, like Carbon block, then it gets pretty good.

Here's the Softener http://www.filtersfast.com/prodView.asp?idproduct=433

And some carbon filters also, though I have no idea which one to get:

http://www.filtersfast.com/prodView.asp?idproduct=708
http://www.filtersfast.com/prodView.asp?idproduct=192
http://www.filtersfast.com/prodView.asp?idproduct=161

Just too many choices.
