Thanks for info from everyone so far! Much appreciate all the input and thoughts. I should inform that I ended up consulting with La Marzocco and they referred me to the local professionals who setup water supply solutions for specialty coffee establshments in my area / zipcode. For my area that would be Pasquini Coffee. They were very helpful providing me with answers I needed over the phone. For serious home use it all came diown to BWT BestMax for my area. Even though this does not really answer the question if Clive's option would do the same as BWT, bias or not, at least I know that BWT is the recommended solution for LM machines for my zipcode, business and home. They also said that the alternative is an RO setup, but it would be high manitenance.
