For several days in a row I noticed that I was a getting a small amount of ground coffee in my cup. Flow rate is good, so I thought it was a cleaning issue. I did everything I could think of, but was still having a small amount of ground coffee in bottom of my cup.
I eventually figured out that when I do my WDT routine, it pushes some of the ground coffee through the holes in the bottom of my VST basket and the they cling to the outside of it. I have just been wiping the bottom of the basket before pulling the shot now and that has removed the ground coffee from the cup. It could be just a perception thing, but I do feel like my shots have less of a bitter after taste than before too.
It's not a big deal to wipe it off, but it seems like it shouldn't be happening. Anyone else have a similar issue? Does it indicate a problem with my routine or grind setting?
