Does anyone ever set up multiple tamped baskets to brew faster? Do you swap the baskets to the portafilter to tamp or do you ever tamp a basket not using the portafilter?

When I'm only preparing 1-3 shots, I use separate baskets and cleanup everything all at once (the portafilter has its retention spring removed). When I'm preparing drinks for a crowd, I use a portafilter with a retention spring and tamp/dose the same basket locked into the portafilter. The dose/tamp step only takes 15-20 seconds, so there's not much time to be saved by prepping multiple baskets. Besides, most non-commercial espresso machines need at least 60 seconds of recovery time, so preparing multiple baskets wouldn't reduce the drink-to-drink time without hurting temperature stability.
