Just thought I'd resurrect an old post which gave conflicting information regarding removal of the the steam tip on the ECM Synchronika. Deciding to have another go at trying to control the ultra rapid performance of the ECM 5 hole steam tip I found removing the standard 2 hole tip to be a problem. The whole end assembly came off revealing the inner plastic tube. A search on this forum did not clarify the matter. Ideally the end portion (the tip you wish to change) should have had a left handed thread so on removal it would have kept the end assembly tight. I can confirm that the tip with its female thread has a normal right handed thread so must be rotated counter-clockwise to remove when looking from the bottom with the holes staring at you (this will of course be clockwise if viewing from above the machine).
