NanoFoamer PRO
Just curious if anyone has used or placed an order for the NanoFoamer PRO?

It seems that it would eliminate all the variables and produce consistent results. Everything from timing to temperature is controlled. On the other hand, I don't like the fact that the pitcher itself is not waterproof and has to be cleaned with a cloth. Maybe they could have put the touch control on the base and added a wired thermometer that would be inserted through the lid or something. But yeah, extra wire. And professional machines can steam much faster I believe.

They haven't been released yet. I got in on the Indiegogo a long time ago, and just recently, they sent out an email asking us to select add-ons and pay shipping. I forget when they said they are shipping, but I think it was September.

Right, I saw that, shipping somewhere in September. Oh well, it's just $120 or so, plus shipping... maybe worth a try.

Interesting that they have 5-star reviews from 'verified buyer' on a yet-to-be-released product.
Looks like it may be a good option if you are using a Kureg or other pod-based coffee machine.
For $120 in milk, you could probably master the art of steaming. You could also get the same result by heating milk in an electric kettle, pouring it into a French press, and then whipping it with the press screen. From what I see, that is basically what this does. Wonder if they have a minimum milk amount for it to work. That looks like a very large pitcher.

Yeah, I totally agree it's not worth getting if you have a good steam source.
I imagine the reviews are from beta-testers, possibly even the Subminimal guys.
For me, it won't add anything to my daily gear. Mine is for my travel setup.

In latte / cappuccino making, the foam is a byproduct of heating the milk with steam. For someone to produce a foam making machine, especially the price it's marketed for, is equivalent to marketing expensive frames for artwork.

Comparing to a Bellman steamer, the price isn't outrageous. If I needed frothed milk at work, I might consider one. Then again, one of their regular frothers and the microwave would probably work well for significantly less.

Yeah, but there's a market for it. If it performs anything like their handheld unit, it'll beat the pants of the Nespresso Aerocino. People with Flair, Robot, Picopress, etc will make good use of it with very little effort, while they focus on producing a good shot. I, for one, occasionally have that need, but it's certainly not going to be my everyday driver. Or...maybe I'll end up selling mine?Capuchin Monk wrote:In latte / cappuccino making, the foam is a byproduct of heating the milk with steam. I guess there's a market for just about anything, even a gallery where people visit to check out the frame of picture.emradguy wrote:Yeah, but there's a market for it.

I got one so I don't have to one handed steam anymore. I can get great microfoam at this point but this is a lot less temperamental.
