Correct, lowered flow rate, though it's sensitive on the number. Lower it too much like into the mid 2s or below and it doesn't seem to build up enough pressure to want to go into the extraction, for some reason. I shoot for 10-15s, and only because it seemed to add more or different flavors.
My whole new variable I tossed into the mix (as if there aren't enough already) is an Ikawa home roaster as I wanted Light to Light-Medium right after first crack, but I haven't been able to achieve some the complexities I used to see in Looking HomeWard, Temple, and some of my other preferred roaster light-ish coffees yet. But hopefully, like with the Decent, after a year of tweaking, I'll learn what profiles make my favorite regional coffees taste the way I want them.
