I followed Matt's idea for a while, and was a contributing factor in my decision to not change the dose.

I think the Monolith Flat is able to do finer adjustments than a Mazzer Major. With a Major, moving the collar is difficult to control to the precision I found necessary. However, it's very easy to change the dose.

The great thing is we're both having tasty drinks.
