Hi ! Hoping I can get some advice

I have a rather large cone size towards end of shot.

Perhaps going too long on my shot. 5 sec pre infusion and 22 second pull.

It's a bean roasted at home from 6 days ago. So perhaps it's too fresh?

Here's a vid

Six days old should be fine. Have you tried grinding a bit finer?

I'll try a bit finer grind currently at setting 10 on a breville grinder pro . My shot is at 196f What would you suggest going down to ?

Is the bean by any chance a robusta, or a blend containing a lot of robusta?

Sorry, nvm about the temperatures. I have no relevant experience with that grinder, nor, upon rewatching your video, have I used your machine. (There have been many versions of the Ascaso Dream.)

Over the years, I have occasionally observed large crema cones (e.g. Vivace Dolce review 2010). I always assumed this was characteristic of the beans, especially robusta and monsooned malabar. Taste did not suffer.

In your video, only 11s elapses between the first drops and shot termination, definitely on the short side. You don't mention brew ratio, but I must agree with Nunas (Maurice): try grinding finer.

A bit finer. From 10 to 7 grind size on breville pro grinder

It's not a big cone but got a lot of channeling. Perhaps it's my tamping pressure and style. Tastes good. But I want to get it better
