Anyone remember those levelling "ruler" type tools?

There was a see you could buy with different curvatures that helped to distribute coffee in basket.

Does anyone remember theses/what they were called and if they're still available?

Scottie Callaghan Dosing Tools

Shops in Oz show stock.

I have some home-made ones somewhere. The dosing tools were meant to be used with doser grinders, which pretty much nobody uses at home anymore.

If you look in the second picture, the one with all the accessories, in the lower right corner, you'll see one.

And then once I found the name, here it is as an out of stock accessory:

And here's a copy on Amazon:

You can make your own using a flexible cutting board. You can cut them out yourself to any shape/size you want.

Well, call me old school....I'm still using a Kony dower model that I'm perfectly happy with. :D

Then you can go completely old school and use the doser's lid as the levelling tool :D. The Scottie Callaghan tools just made it easier as you didn't have to hold the lid at a consistent angle for repeating a desired dose.

BTW, here's a video from the man himself explaining how to dose - from nine years ago :

I scoffed at them before, but I've been thinking of upgrading my technique :D

Many people, including myself, have gone to using a multi-pronged WDT tool to handle this task.
