Did anyone watched the roasting video on "wired gourmet" YouTube channel?

This is what just got me into roasting.
It's simple, minimal equipment, and I can say I trust this guy.

What do you think about it?

just do a search for heat gun in this sub forum, it's a great low cost low tech starting point...beware, home roasting can be a deep rabbit hole ;-)

Wow, the first 10s is completely wrong. Clickbait uninformed YouTube garbage.

Yes you can skillet roast/fry your coffee. It is done around the world but it isn't "impossible" to mess up, it isn't extremely easy, it won't give consistent results, and there is a reason commercial and enthusiast roasters use higher end equipment. If you do get into coffee roasting you will quickly understand why.

I love when general internet gets an inch-deep into coffee and makes articles and YouTube videos with bad information about the thing they just learned about 5 minutes ago.

It's incredibly easy to turn coffee brown. It's not too hard to make drinkable coffee. It's a difficult combination of art and science to make very good coffee.
