I'm seeking recommendations for a USB Isolator.

My laptop battery is getting a bit old and I want to get off of battery power and plugin. I'll use it between my Lenovo laptop and my Mill City 500g with MODBUS.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good USB Isolator that works?

I'm Using a Singxer SU1 for audio , but for plain USB I would imagine any isolator works. I see optocoupler based USB isolators for around 8 bucks.

Do you know for sure that plugging in is giving you noise with the Modbus. Interesting, when did you ditch phidgets and why?

I just received my roaster at the beginning of September. I didn't ditch the phidget, Mill City did. I was expecting to get a phidget but when I told them it was missing they said it was now MODBUS and integrated into the machine with a mounted USB jack. They couldn't tell me much more, not even the settings I needed for connecting to Artisan, though I think I may have figured it out via trial and error.

When doing a MODBUS scan, I'm missing some info when the power supply is plugged-in. If I unplug, all the info is there. So, I assume I need an isolator.
