Early roast with my Arc S Sampler. Leaving my Hottop roaster after years of reliability until it was no longer working. Trying to dial-in, a bit different animal..

Ralph,

Welcome to H-B!

Will you be using probes linked to a computer running Artisan roasting software? I used to have a Hottop and getting good roasts with it was idiosyncratic to learning its controls and doing lots of tasting. I've found that being able to track and adjust your roast profile in real time is a very different and helpful experience.

Thanks Gary for the response. The Hotpot I had was the entry level more a plug and play, so I never used the Artisan software. That's going to be new to me as well. I do intend on looking into that possibly next weekend.
Any suggestions?

Here's where you can get it as a free download. It's so useful that many of us, including me, donate to support it. Artisan is open source and extensively documented, and its development team interacts often with people on this site. On the Artisan site you'll find a Quick Start Guide.

It looks like your roaster is already equipped to send data to Artisan.

Maybe you can tell us how you chose your new roaster. It looks like the real deal.
