The Roasters are still on a boat as far as I know ... but Dustin has made some videos of a sample roast on the machine as well as preheating and cleaning the chaff out. He did this in response to requests from those getting a machine. The links are below ...

Note from Dustin:
Ok, here are a few videos guys. The production quality isn't the greatest, but I was more concerned with just getting the information out there.

hope this is ok to post ... there is lots of interest in the machine and thought this would be helpful and a "picture" is worth a thousand words. Certainly seems to have more than enough power to roast a 500gm charge.

Excellent videos for giving me an idea of what that roaster is like. And, it looks like a really sound and well built roaster. One I'd like to have for sure.
Thanks.

I'm really impressed at how quickly the environmental temperature responds to the gas input.

I am really liking this roaster, thanks for the vids. I wish Dustin the best with this venture and hope stresses are not to high, or even better, no stress!

I look forward to hearing more when they become available.

Thanks for the videos Dustin! It doesn't look like such an overwhelming experience after watching these. You explain things quite well. Not to say that I wouldnt pooch a few roasts if I had one, but it does look like something even this old dog might learn!

Last week I was lucky to roast on/observe a propane Santoker/Revolution 500. All the roasts were 500g. Roasts can easily reach/finish first crack within 12 minutes if needed be. The vent control is precise, more so than my Mini 500. The fit and finish are also excellent.

This roaster has two separate blowers, so one can jump immediately into roasting while the beans are being cooled. For those interested, on this particular roaster setting at this location, marking 7 indicates air flow/heat "equilibrium" point. First crack generally occurred at around 184-186C.

Some ergonomic improvements can perhaps be done on future updates. The weighted handle for the face plate could use a stop to avoid the handle from hitting the roaster body; currently it is stopped by the trier. The handle for vent control is about 1cm away from the weighted handle, which might be a pinch hazard. Minor issues....

Overall, a capable and reasonably priced gas roaster!

I might have missed it, but can this roaster run on Natural gas?

I think you can request the different jets and valves, etc and have it built that way.
