I too have noticed the lower temps on 1st crack, and maybe less time to 1stC. Only done 6 roasts with the new drum so it is a new learning curve. It seems way more responsive to fan adj.thepilgrimsdream wrote:Just got the new drum from Molly! Dramatic improvement! More sweetness/clarity/development. Follows the curve much easier. I hit fc about 7-10f earlier for some reason too.

Clearly I'm behind the times on this one....how do I get on board with one of these drums?

Send Molly an email with a photo of your Quest M3 faceplate (front view) and the year of the roaster manufacture (on label/plate of roaster).
Send $$ and wait.

It was $100 + $35 shipping to Philadelphia. I honestly could never roast with the old style drum again

No, just an M3s drum Well, M3s if you want the one I put in. There is another drum they offer as well and I believe it has been discussed and photo shown here.
