I made the recommendation to Quest back when I made the mod and sent them pictures. Apparently they listened and are going to offer them that way from the factory now. I should get a royalty.
I can let you know what I find when mine arrives Tuesday.

Thanks Tom. I see you shortened the drum to allow for adding a perforated screen onto the rear of the drum and you DID NOT drill the drum itself.

Have you been happy with this method?

And is now Quest selling just the drums with the perforated back plate as an upgrade?? Do I need to ask Molly about that or has someone else gone that route?

I drilled a line of holes a cm or so from the back of the drum. I assume the results are similar - depending on the overall hole area...

Very happy.

Your best bet would be to inquire with Molly.

I contacted Molly and she indicated that they would sell a perforated drum. Thanks for the photo!

Did you happen to ask Molly if it will fit the earlier production Quest M3's ? I would be interested in going down this path if it does

Yes it will. There's been no changes in the drum that would affect fitment across the whole line.
