Free Green Coffee.
Anyone want some older beans (Spring/Summer 2020)? They are still perfectly fine, but I have so much amazing coffee, I won't ever drink these.
It's about 8 lbs of beans. You just have to pay shipping.
Ethiopia Harrar (Happy mug)
Ethiopia Yirg Natural (Roastmasters)
Ethiopia Guji Natural (Royal Frack ... I think)
Honduras Honey (Royal Frack ... I think)
Sorry for the crappy pictures, but ... free coffee.

AUCTION COFFEE
Masterpieces of Daterra PARAISO PULPED; Daterra describes as aroma: coffee blossom, citric fruits, honey; flavors: Yellow citric fruits, peach, black tea and Lactic and Citric acidity. On my sample cupping table, our local group also noted a bumble-gum finish. (I roasted my first sample from the brick I have already divided and mailed out from previous commitments on this. I'm cupping it now and I don't regret the purchase - it's very nice. I think you will be reading more about it on Home-Barista as some of us start roasting it.)
As soon as I have 10 kg in orders, I will start taking payments. (I want to let that beautiful penta pack stay nice and sealed until I can get coffee out to you.) PM with a commitment to purchase and I will respond and verify cost and paypal (etc) when I have enough orders to break a vacuum packed brick and pack and ship.
Cost schedule below:
1-5 lb $19.03 per lb + $9.65 USPS padded flat rate envelope
0.5-2.5 kg $41.91 per kg + $9.65 USPS padded flat rate envelope
And to accommodate Ikawa and other small batch roasters:
300 grams $19.57 (this includes $7 shipping as quoted to me by USPS)

My wife and I just tried some of Chert's roasted Paraiso and it was wow both as a SO espresso and in a cap. So go get yourself some. Thick body, juicy, balanced. Yum.

Peruvian Bourbon/Caturra. Royal Coffee Crown Jewel.
I have never been thrilled with Peruvian coffee but these notes interest me. I haven't cupped it but Royal rarely disappoints me and am willing to defer to their notes.
Plum
Brown Sugar
Honey
Dried Mango
"Sweet and gentle, yes, but unassuming Peruvian coffee this is not. Far more than a faceless, generic bulked regional, this lot of coffee from a small family group of farmers in northern Peru boasts sugary-sweetness for days. There is so much more to it, but it seems every conversation I've had about the cup character has begun and ended with its sweetness. Look for brown sugar notes especially, and hints of candied stone fruits, rum-soaked raisins, horchata, and pralines..."

They encourage a fast roast.
Have one pack left. Sold out. $42 shipped via USPS priority mail. Reserve via message CONTACT to me over here =====>.
On vacation in New Mexico. Will order and time for delivery after I return home to Minnesota, beginning 4 April. Dave Borton

I second the recommendation on Royal's Peru CJ. It's very sweet and surprisingly fruity for a washed process. In a medium roast about midway between first and second crack the brewed cup has really nice chocolate fudge with a bunch of interesting nuanced flavors. Two thumbs up!

This Peruvian looks very interesting (I'm considering getting a box), but all the roasting and tasting notes refer to pour-over. Would this be wasted as an espresso? I still make 90% of my coffee as espresso, but the great majority of SO beans seem aimed at other brewing methods.
Thanks,
Matt
Too late. I ordered one. In keeping with the purpose of the thread, I'll attempt to distribute some later.

Chuckling. Couldn't resist, eh? I was going to suggest you wait till we have had a chance to cup for you.mgrayson wrote: ... Too late. I ordered one. In keeping with the purpose of the thread, I'll attempt to distribute some later.
Peruvians often lack the depth that I seek in a bean when purchasing beans for espresso. Time will tell.

Guilty. In any event, if it's really unsatisfactory for my "needs", it looks like I won't have difficulty finding takers for the remaining 21 lbs. And I wouldn't have done even that before Boldjava was sold out.

Update: 3 people have committed for 5 lbs. each. There's some of this left if anyone wants to distribute another box.
Cost for a 5 lb. batch will be $37.05 plus shipping at cost. It's $7.41/lb. from Royal with free shipping from them. I'll update you via DM when I know the amount.
Is anyone interested in sharing a box of this organic SWP decaf Crown Jewel? A decaf is unusual for a Crown Jewel offering, and I also want to reward their offering it. To reduce hassle, I'd like to offer three five-pound shipments at cost that includes shipping costs. Payment would be via the PayPal option that doesn't charge me a fee.

The summary on Royal's site says:
"The flavor profile is complex and effortlessly delicious with notes of cherry pie, strawberry ice cream, marzipan, and lemongrass. Our roasters found the coffee tasted great at a range of different profiles.... When brewed our baristas enjoyed the coffee as a high-ratio pour-over and found it well-suited and easy to dial as an espresso, noting that it tasted great in milk drinks as well as on its own."
Here's their flavor chart.
Roasting notes look very helpful.
