Cooling Tray Fan Exhaust Alternative

Recently was watching a video on the ARC 800 and noticed for the cooling tray an indoor drying vent contraption was being used. Interesting and simple.
See the video at 3:41; also a good video on the ARC 800 which has now been upgraded to have 4 probes, 3 of which are RTDs and a much faster sampling rate.

Sure yet many end up with back flow issues. Just an alternative I had not seen.

Even with a damper like that in-line I have had backflow issues (smoke eerily floating up from empty cooling tray mid roast) I'm a firm believer in keeping the two lines separate, especially since the cooling fan usually doesn't need to vent outside.
While maybe not necessary, this contraption noted in the start of this thread is still pretty nifty! Keeps the space nice and clean, good organization, good attention to detail, even if it's just for detail's sake!
