This webpage and pics of the prototype from some trade shows have been on and off my FB feed for what seems like a couple years, always with the "coming soon" tag. I would love to see it launch someday, but I am really more curious what the pricing will be, seems no information on that.

I couldn't find any information from the first three links that they offer as retailers. The fourth ( http://www.caffealto.com.tw) , however, lists the price as:
現在開放預購$49000元(未稅) 額滿為止

Which I believe is 49 000 yuan, which is just under $8000.

That's over twice the original expected price.

49000 is Taiwan dollar without tax

They prefer the price under 2000usd

The design is pretty, but I'm still very skeptical that this will ever be a reality. Given the travails that established companies like Hottop and Gene have had when they try to put together 1 kilo electric roasters for the home market, I give this a low probability of success. But who knows, maybe they will prove me wrong.

A key step that would make it more convincing is to give an independent tester some time to play with it and report on their findings.

From the advertisement, the early bird special of New Taiwan Dollar NTD 49000 is approximately USD$ 1564.30. From coffee blogs, this roaster is also made in Taiwan, like several other popular coffee roasters in this forum.
