Just picked this up. Will give it a try when I get in from work.

Was able to get the 17" in but had to go in vertically. A little fiddling around and I managed to set it around the nut but vert little allowance for movement beyond breaking it loose. Used a long needle nose plier to unscrew the rest of the way.

Will you be able to tighten back up on re-installation?

There should be more clearance in the tightening direction, but the wrench can be ground down significantly to fit. A nicer crow's foot from Mac, SK, Proto or another premium tool maker can be sourced in 17mm and would likely fit in much tighter spaces.

Big reveal, you guessed it late 57 build with 58 serial number Radaelli CAFFOMATIC.
Doing a total strip down and element conversion.

Back plate and toggle switch similar to but not exactly to the ones seen on early LP Europiccola.
