Phew, thanks!
Part of me was stressing out about damaging them with the steel wool.
But I figured if I mess it up I can always bankrupt myself by buying a new base and boiler.
Now to get working on the hard water stains left All Over the stainless steel plates.
I've tried everything from baking soda to white vinegar to stainless steel cleaner/polisher but nothing works.
-and Barkeepers Friend is not available in these parts.
