Well I swapped out the control board a few days ago and it's been working perfectly, so looks like that was the issue! Thanks for the help!

Might do the mod in a bit when I feel like reopening the machine.

The relays in those boxes are inexpensive & easy to replace once the board is out of the housing. Get the part number off of the relay cover, get one online & have your friend replace it so you have a spare controller.

Hi, this thread has been very useful and I'm following it's advice.

Can anyone confirm I have wired things the correct way around?

So I've removed the thin wires.

Safety thermostat to common on the p-stat.

Normally closed on the p stat back to the power board?

New power board already has jumper in place.

Additionally, I was told I needed to change my p stat for a 16a one. I assume I can use the old one until it breaks then change it for the new 16a one?

Old p stat, I was told this was 15a but cannot see anything to say that?

New, unfitted, p stat

Your wiring looks good to me.
Your new p-stat is a 16amp.

Good job, enjoy your coffee. :D
