Hello!

Last time I was on maintanance with my Breville used CAFIZA from Urnex to clean the portafilter, left the basket in with portafilter submerged with a tablet ( plastic was outside the water detergent only touched metals ) and I left it overnight finished the clean and I noticed that portafilter in the spot where water was touching it is now matte not chrome. Is it recoverable? how to restore the look ?. Will scotch brite restore it ?

Thanks for any tips.

Nothing can be done.
Scotch-brite will permanently remove the chrome.

You could remove all of the plastic from it, scour it evenly all over with a fine steel wool to make a perfectly even surface, clean it with somehting to totally degrease it, though the Cafiza will have it pretty much perfect already and take it to plating shop to have it re-chromed (Google Re-chroming Service or Plating House). But it would be much faster to just buy a portafilter.
