My 2018 Monolith Flat on/off switch has failed. I contacted Denis who feels that coffee dust infiltrated the switch. Since it cannot be disassembled and cleaned, I need to source a new switch. I can order one from Denis but to speed up the repair, he suggested I source a switch myself. The green LED switch is a 25mm anti-vandal switch with a 5v LED. I am looking for a vendor who can provide a quick delivery. Does anyone know where I can find one of these? The color of the LED is not an issue for me.

You tried amazon?

I have sourced many a switch from them. You can likely get one very cheap with near instant delivery.

Did Denis mention if it is momentary or latching?

Otherwise digikey is my go to for electrical supplies.
This should be a filtered list of 25mm led lit anti-vandal switches that are in stock and ready to ship at digikey:

I looked on Amazon and found 3,6 and 12v LEDs but no 5v. The switch is latching, not momentary.

Like Jake said, mouser or digikey would be my first stops and then pay for the fast shipping. Depending on where you are in FL you can also Google to see if there is a local electronic components store nearby and give them a call.

Mouser and Digikey don't have the 5v LED, so no go so far. Radio Shak has nothing like it. I'll ask Denis if he knows a US supplier.

Hard to imagine a 6V LED would not work as I doubt they did more than use a series resistor for current limiting and the LED should just be a bit dimmer with 5V. But for $3 something like this might work till you find the proper switch:

Here is an option that seems like it would work just fine.

Alternatively, you could put a resistor inline with a 3V switch (there are several 3V options) to fine-tune the brightness of the LED.

Denis said that a 6v LED would work well, so I have one ordered. If this works out I will post an update in case anyone else has a loss of motor function from a clogged switch.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

It turns out that Denis changed the size of the switch over the years and is currently using a 25mm diameter switch. That is the size he recommended, but it turns out that my 2018 Flat has a 19mm cutout. I found a switch that works here:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07931ZKC1

It comes in four LED colors plus white. The LED is always lit.

Incidentally, when I only had the 25mm switch, I connected it to prove that the switch was the problem. I ran the grinder momentarily to confirm. Since the base was separated from the body of the grinder, the grinder was on the table in a horizontal position. After I put in the new 19mm switch, the grind was off and would not make fine enough grounds. I assumed that fines had shifted and made the top burr too high on one side. I opened the top of the grinder and saw that was exactly what had happened as a result of running it on its side. I vacuumed out the unit and reassembled it and it functions perfectly.

If I ever have to take the base off in the future, I will remove the top plate and vacuum the burrs and surrounding spaces.
