Hi,

since the Mahlkonig version of the short hopper cost $126 I went a little cheaper and modified a $25 Macap M4 hopper..

cut the bottom off the M4 hopper and Rhino glue it to the black part of the K30 hopper.

here is how it looks
cheers,
Juanjo

Nice job, the OEM one is very expensive.

Did the original hopper survive the process, ie is it reversible? Cheers, Chris

$126.00? I bought my short hopper from Mahlkonig for $35.00, but nice job anyway.

Any details/contacts for that. I had heard $85USD myself for one that would fit the K30.

thanks,

the original hopper survive, but the black part in the bottom of the hopper is Rino glue it to the M4 hopper.

I called Mahlonig at 650 592 1175 and a very nice person there told me about the new short hopper, its measurements and price, $126 (most likely plus shipping)

BUT I'd love to know more details about the one you got for $35
cheers,
Juanjo

I bought mine from the same place you called. I'm positive I quoted correctly what I paid. However, I have been wrong before, so I will check my receipt (if I can find it) and report back.

Was it for the K30 Vario or the Baratza/Mahlkonig Vario?

It is a K30 Vario, I'm still trying to verify my original statement. Question though. Besides using Mahlkonig grinding discs, I didn't think the Baratza Vario has anything to do with Mahlkonig?
