I have read posts here and on other forums, describing how to open up an E-61 brew head to apply lubrication to the cam lobe's face. I wrote the chief supplier of my machine (Expobar) to source the appropriate lubricant and making sure if this is a requirement. The answer I got was that the machines arrive here with no lubrication on the cam. The reason is actually quite obvious: the hot water passing through the head will wash the lube away. What however does need lubrication is the shaft of the cam. This is done by taking the valve apart - as per the videos that shows how the cam should be lubricated - push the cam off the shaft and lube the shaft. Put that assembly together, assemble the valve and Bob's your uncle. Make sure to use a lubricant that is food grade, like Weicon silicon grease, for instance.
