First noticed this several weeks ago when I turned two position switch to second position at start up in the morning, the tank heats and I can hear the pressure switch click on and off but when I lift a lever, no pump action at all. Flick the switch vigorously off and on and after a couple of tries, the pump starts and machine performs perfectly all day. Yesterday same again but after a vigorous off and on, just several loud clicks, pump makes a quick "attempt" to go, then nothing. Water heats as usual. Repeat the off on and more clicks which I cannot locate - machine has covers off by now! I have wriggled all plugs/contacts I can get at and replaced the solenoid and capacitor. Again, after a few more repeats the pump started and machine performed perfectly so I have left it on awhile.

I hope for some advice from the forum. Could it be position one on the switch, or the controller? Any other ideas? The machine is 14 years old with an otherwise faultless record.
