Yes, I did fix the steam problem. It was the loose brass washer as Giampiero described.... caused almost certainly (I reckon) by me leaning the machine on the valve while trying to fish out a dropped case washer. The next easiest to tackle should be the alarm

I have a Alex Duetto also in HK. Just wondering if you found and used someone for the maintenance? Mine is blowing the fuse every time I turn it on. Plus it needs genera servicing anyway (had it for over 5 years now).
