This rebuild is going awesome- and I agree about Autosol: the miracle paste!

I have one of these machines- mine is the single group version- no such water level valve in mine  But the good news is mine looks new compared to your machine :P - when you started I thought your machine looked pretty much knackered, but I now see it was just a light patina of age is all.... in the right hands that machine will clearly be 'like new' in no time at all. It really is a testimony to the original manufacturing quality- and your obvious expertise. Well done- be sure to post all the way to the end- and that first test shot. Thanks.

Its unusual to find this model with its original level system in place, the last time I saw this was 25 years ago . Then I was just a kid did not know what I had , I gave the machine away, that's life...

All the parts added are original Gaggia . Alot of the parts on Gaggia America depending on the year transend through to Gaggia Orione etc 1960 to 1967.. including pipes and fittings. Everything looks original even if it is not.

I have rebuilt a number of these machines. This is one of the first to keep most of its original safety, level and pressure regulating systems. Really is a piece of art.

Gaggia lever group stack , with the group seals showing before and after. If anybody wants more detail , ask and I will post it.

Lovin' it. Thanks for sharing.

That gear mechanism is so different to the knuckle on Astoria lever group. In the Gaggia is that an area often requiring extra work or is it a design that stands the test of time and lots of lever pulls?

I'm always curious to see how people have these stacked.
