I recently purchased at a very reasonable price a Gaggia TE.

It is in perfect condition inside and out. I plugged it in and it seems to work fine. Got to pressure etc...The only thing is the boiler does appear to fill automatically. There is a visual level indicator and a switch above it which seems to activate the pump to refill the boiler. Can anybody share experience and possibly an Operating Manual for this machine. I can't find anything online. Thanks.

It looks like there is a level probe (second photo, closest to camera, single wire connected to the probe at the top of the boiler). It may not be working. If you've got a sight glass and a switch, you're probably good to go until you get excited to trace it down. Machines worked that way for decades.

Confirm that autofill is or is not working by pulling the wire (yellow, wrapped in reddish sheath) off of the probe for 6+ seconds. If the machine doesn't try to autofill with the probe obviously nor in contact, then check the power to the Gicar and its outputs.
Once you've found the issue with the Gicar , replace it, or replace its defective component (very likely a burnt out transformer).
