When I retired as a mechanic from the packaged food industry, there were a couple partial tubes in my Snap On tool box. Before the company sent it home my immediate supervisor and I went through to make sure I was not removing any "contraband". :D I specifically asked about certain items and he indicated since they were partials not to be concerned. Shrink wrapped the box and they delivered it. So my expense on this sealer was zero. I have used the Rectorseal products several times and 567 is still the best I have had ever used. Perhaps if requested from Loctite a person could get a small sample to try out. It would probably be enough to do a lifetime of fittings for an espresso machine. A very little goes a long way, or as Brylcreem used to advertise, "A little dab 'l do ya!"

I was curious about the cost of this so went to Amazon. You can buy a 6ml tube for $8.06. That will probably last forever for most folks if you don't gob it on. Small price for no leaks.

I was comparing the price of similar size containers between the Rectorseal #5 & the 567. I usually buy the large can but a 1.75 oz (44.35ml) tube of the Rectorseal #5 is $5.00. An 8oz can is $14. I've no doubt that the 567 is great stuff but I've had very good luck with the #5 so the 567 would have to be a heck of a lot better as that 6ml tube would not last long around here.

Thanks for the info. Dave! I didn't know what I'd been using , but it was the Rectorseal #5. It's always worked for me, but I took your advice and ordered a small tube of the Loctite. Now if a fitting leaks I can't blame the sealant.
