It's been a long while since used my machine and I am going to replace the two piston seals. Regarding the upper Vee shaped seal: Does the V shape go in so that the point of the V, like a caret is facing uppermost or does the point face downward as an upside down V? I searched this forum but was unable to retrieve the answer. Thank you for your help.

BHR thanks. I did find that. HB wrote, "The "V" gasket points downward. Think about it... " I may be overthinking this but that mean that the V is open at the top and the point is facing down? Or is the V put in as a caret: ^ ?
I'm having trouble with my own native language. TIA.

Upside down V :).

The open end of the V is aimed at the portafilter and the pointy end of the V is aimed at the lever/spring.

Okay, got it. Use the ^ as reference. Thank you.
