Can't insert back adhesive heating element on Gaggia Baby Twin

Hey all, I opened my Gaggia Baby Twin to re align the steam valve and cam, it works well now however I can't seem to put the adhesive heating element back in all the way inside that's at the top below the cover.

Does anyone know what this heating element is for and will it affect the machine in any way or I can just leave this at it is?

It's Gaggia's way of being able to include "Cup Heater" amongst the things the colorful box says about the machine. Just leave it as is.
