Hi all,
So I second hand bought this machine and upon getting it I initiated descale process but didn't use any solution. I then went to check if everything works and there was no steam. The steam boiler is cold and empty and I don't hear the pump. Read all the forums I can find but non are related to this. I also checked the fuse continuity and it didn't show to have any power running through both blue and red wires.

This is the one systemic flaw in the BDB. The descale program has a very good chance of blowing the steam boiler thermal fuse. Check the continuity through the thermal fuse on the side of the steam boiler.

Would this also cause the steam boiler pump to not fill it?

I don't believe so, but I have a sample of 1 to go by. I fragged my thermal fuse when I first bought a used BES920, before I found out the descale program had this problem. My steam boiler still filled, just no heaters.

I think the burned up fuse will prevent the pump from filling the boiler.
It happened to me once and the boiler wouldn't fill.
