I think that there are a couple paint manufacturers that are now making paint (spray can form) that is designed to chemically bond with various plastics.

I got two quotes today that were ridiculous. 650 and 550 to sand and paint the exterior. All because of the plastic panels. Powder coating was only 150 to 200, but only works on metal.
Well I've made a lot of progress today. Only left to install is the site glass assembly, but I am going to sand and paint the white backsplash first since it was nasty.

Thanks Stuart. Well I have plugged it in and it all works perfect.
I do have one major dilemma. I don't have a 20amp socket where the machine is going. Only 15amps. After a log of googling and drawing from my previous PID'ing projects I thought why not separate the heating elements coils which are about 1000W each or about 10amps and power each one independently from separate 15amp circuits. I have two 15amp circuits nearby and both are on separate breakers. I was thinking of using an SSR or a contactor. what do you all think?

I remember seeing the first post of this, but not any of the updates. Well done! You're going to have a beautiful machine when you're finished.
As far as the ABS panels, pick whatever color you happen to like. I wouldn't worry about if it was gloss finished or not, since in order to do the job right and make it look like it was professionally painted, you're going to want to do a slight fine sanding between coats to smooth out the blemishes or uneven spots. At the very end, you will rattle can it with a gloss varnish to really make it jump out at you.
The Ferrari red color there looks good, but I think our eyes are influenced by the tiles in it's surrounding.

Thanks Tom. In order to save money and time I decided to leave the color as is and just repaint the worst panels which were the two front black one. I sanded it down to bare metal using a drill wire wheel. I then hit it with 3 coats of Rustoleum grey primer and 3 coats of gloss black. Came out pretty nice and hopefully it doesn't fade or chip.

I need help. I operated the machine without the dispersion screen and now barely no water comes out the grouphead when I turn the brew switch on. Could coffee have been sucked up the grouphead and clogged it?

Is that after engaging the pump for a few seconds without the PF in place to see if it clears? Does any water come out?

Just remove the brew solenoid valve and clean the guts in tap water and same for dispersion screw. You're sorta lucky to the extent that the dispersion screw looks like a hex vice a long slot on E-61's. Those can be a bear to remove after time.

Yes I tried without the pf and dispersion screen. I even tried brewing with the dispersion screw removed and nothing but drops came out.
Eric
Should I also soak the group head in joeglo just in case? Of course with the brew selenoid removed.
Thanks to both of you. Should I remove the pipes that go to the boiler/HX? Is it possible there's a clog there? I remember both pipes had a small diameter hole which I guess could clog easily.
