Not too long ago the machine started to smell like plastic, so I knew the wiring was melting. Turns out the heating element gaskets gave up and it started leaking. Initially, I was just going to rewire it and replace the heating element; but then I decided to just go all in.

Wow that went from tarnished and old to shining and new! Would it be possible to go more into detail on how you refurbished this MCAL?

Sure, what would you like to know other than the following:
  • New gaskets
  • New wiring
  • Riveted badge
  • Replated in copper
  • Polished the brass

For me I am curious in the copper replating and polishing. Did you take any photos of this process or did you have someone else do it for you? I ask as I have a copper and brass Pavoni I will probably need to refurbish at some point and I intend to either polish and or replate.
