Thank you for all your help!
So at the end of last summer, my Profitec Pro 700 suffered a critical failure (seized pump), and I embarked on my first major repairs, which later involved finding and replacing a faulty check valve and trying to fix safety thermostats.
I'm happy to report that today, my Pro 700 is back in service in the kitchen and works as well as ever. I was able to make the first flat white since last summer to my wife this afternoon! I never could have completed these repairs without the help of HB's Repairs subforum. I won't name names by fear of forgetting someone, but if you posted in the threads linked above, you have my most sincere thanks.
I also want to tell anybody lurking and wondering if they should attempt a DIY repair involving plumbing, boilers and/or the pump... Turns out, if I can do it, you probably also can.
A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all!
