Hi All,

There is a new and exciting dual boiler espresso machine that I believe will make all others obsolete!

Over the last 15 months, I was contacted by Torre Espresso in Italy in regards to doing business. The owner of this fairly new company had a background from previous espresso machine manufacturers in Italy and his desire was to build the best espresso machines in terms of performance and reliability. He also designed the ErgoLift so the traditional mini-lever on the side of the grouphead would not interfere with wider cups can be placed under the grouphead. It also gave more space for the water wand to be utilized.

I had took a look at their machines and I made some suggestions. One of those suggestions was the ability to change the level of the water level in the steam boiler. Increase the water level through the touch screen for those who want to make more Cafe Americano's or decrease the water level to make more capacity for steam. As far as I know, no other company has this feature and another feature that I had proposed to a manufacturer.

We also asked him to include a better tamper, extra steam tips with 3 and 4 holes, a bottomless portafilter, a water treatment pouch and some backflushing detergent.

Andrea, the owner, went a step further by increasing the strength of the steam boiler to withstand 1.6 bar pressure.

If you notice, there are no mechanical gauges for the pump pressure or the steam pressure - one less item to get scaled up. Both measurements are not shown on the display.

Comment below if you want to see an HB review done on this fine machine.

Typo? Most dual boilers can run the steam boiler up at 2 to 2.25 bar.

Not a typo, but an improvement over its current non-EVO version. Many dual boilers, in this price range, I would say, run under 1.9 bar as this is where the safety valve is set. Most heat exchange espresso machines have a safety valve with maximum pressure of 1.5 bar.

The only other one I know of is the Lelit Elizabeth with a 5.5 bar safety valve and up to 4 bar pressure. The reason is the steam boiler is smaller and pre-infusion gets its pressure from the steam boiler. There may be others with a higher pressure of the steam boiler higher than 2 bars and with a respective safety valve. However, then the tensile strength also needs to be enhanced for the higher pressures.
