What if we exchange the complete top burr carrier, E37SD seems the same design with added worm gear and plastic adjustment disc (would prefer metal disc like E37K / E37Z) is there any difference inside / bottom carrier we could not see ?

Todd, another question: Could you fit one of the existing E37 hoppers to this and use it as a "normal" grinder setup if doing higher volume? Thanks!

The hopper would not fit and it would defeat the purpose of the grinder. It is designed to grind as a single dose grinder. You weight the beans you want to grind, pour them in and then hit the bellows to blow out the excess grinds. You don't actual program a time like you would on the E37S.

Todd/WLL,
I was wondering about the the 37SD and 2019 37S availability. What is the current expected availability? I just purchased from WLL what I thought was going to be the 2019 version 37S (500 watt motor & Worm gear grind adjustment) after discussing the 37S and 37SD with the sales person. I am scheduled to receive the unit in a few days. I called back to make sure it was the 2019 version and found out that is was actually the 2018 version. I really wanted the worm gear adjustability. I was told that an "upgrade kit" was going to be available soon to change the grind adjustment. I realize that the 2018 E37S will still have a 400 watt motor, which I can live with. Is this kit (worm gear grind adjustment) actually going to be available and when, also when will the new 2019 37S model be available? Thanks!

The grinders we are sending out now have the 500 watt motor just like the new version with the "Quick Set Gear". I don't have the actual ETA on the upgrade kits. I'll post the ETA shortly. Please send me a personal message and I'll make sure you are on the list for when they come in.
Thanks for working with US!

PM sent. When will you be stocking/shipping the E37S "quick set gear" model and the E37SD? Thanks!

The quick set gears in about a month and the SD in about 1.5 months, give or take a little.

Will the new E37S with the Quick Set Gear allow for a coarser grind adjustment range for pour overs, etc., or is it still designed as an espresso specialist?

The E37S with the "Quick Set Gear" will be able to grind for pour over but will not be a grinder that you will want to use to switch between espresso and pour over. It is really designed to be an espresso grinder and it has a worm gear for very fine tuning of your grind. If you want to switch between the espresso and pour over look the the E37SD. With the SD you can release the worm gear and turn the adjustment collar quickly between coarse and fine. And and do it predictably.

I just got my first sample today and gave it a quick run through and I am very impressed with the design and the super low to almost zero retention. It is actually really amazing. Marcus and I will do a video on it next week.

Can you just purchase (if available) the "E37SD" version of the worm gear adjustment and put it on a regular E37S version. Is there any other difference inside / bottom burr carrier ?
