Vivaldi but they made 2 types. You have to have the version with the mounting tabs on the side panels connecting to the end of the frame.

Hello Dave,
kudos for producing marvelous wood pieces and sharing your work. I'm a beginner lathe wood worker, and I plan to turn a portafilter handle and levers for my Bezzera BZ7. Won't be anywhere near your level, but something I'll be proud of anyway and a good conversation starter while waiting for a shot
Without sharing any "trade secret", what kind of finish would you suggest using to achieve good durability especially on the portafilter handle (likely to get wet and attacked by the oils in the hands)? I prefer satin finishes, usually, and I have experimented with wiping oils (Danish oil, like you mention in the first post), shellac/blo/alcohol (friction finish), CA+blo, lacquer, walnut oil, wax, etc
Thanks in advance for any tip you are willing to share

Thanks Dave.
I guess I'll stick to what I know, catalyzed urethane is a great finish but requires professional equipment to spray and there are enough safety concerns to keep me away from it. Your customers are getting the very best finish, that's for sure...

Yes, it's a great finish. After years of service, my Dave Stephens handles still look like they are new.

I am amazed by the quality of the handles in the pictures. Do you have any experience working with VBM domobars?
Also, handles like this increase shot quality by 30%. I might want to get one asap!
