Dave,
I looked through a lot of this thread (but not all!) and didn't find a single example of custom wood La Spaz Vivaldi sides! What gives? Ever do it? Interested in doing it?

hi guys (and Dave)

I did not come across a welcome thread to introduce myself :(
Anyway I obviuosly like the wood of the last 77 pages  and am waiting for my new Mazzer Mini E type A and Rocket Giotto Pro

Dave can you quote me some prices for the wooden knobs and handles in cocobolo or iron wood for those machines I did email you, maybe you are busy these holidays ...if so than please see this posting as a mere compliment to your artistic skills.

Unlike the ones you can purchase like that, the ones I would make would be slab sided not profile curved. To get that you need a CNC mill which I don't have. I have had people ask about them but to make one I would need one of the side panels off the machine to use as a template provided both sides are the same, just mirror images. No one has ever sent me one to to do. GS3's I have and have a template made to make more but no LaSpaz's yet. They are also very expensive in exotic wood. With most dimensioned exotic lumber coming in at 50-100$ a board foot, it turns into several hundred dollars real fast.

Dave,

I wouldn't mind sending you the panels from my unit and cover shipping both ways to get a figure. Would that be worth it for you, given the limited demand? Since that the panels from Clive run around 400-600, i think it's understood that yours could run in the similar range.

As far as the look, would the edges look similar to the GS/3 side panels?
