Odyssey Espresso Argos finally arrived! I'll write more as I get used to the new machine but initial impression is even better than hoped! This has been an almost 2 year wait (August '21). Fit and finish are top notch. Very well thought out. Pleasantly surprised as I was expecting it to be a little rough around the edges for a completely new product. Only pulled three shots so far and all have been very good. I need to fine tune my prep as I am used to a La Pavoni with smaller diameter basket. The footprint /size of the machine is smaller than expected (in a good way) and feels very solid. See pics compared to La Pavoni. Excited to begin this journey with a brand new machine.

Very exciting. The Argos is THE most anticipated espresso machine of 2023. I can't wait to read the reviews and watch videos as they start rolling in. Time to get the popcorn!

Awesome, beautiful machine! Looking forward to your comparison with the Pavoni as these two machines are also my current and future setup :)

On the third pic, is the dial on the boiler cap showing water residues (foggy)?

Couple questions:
Are back-to-back shots possible or how long between shots must you wait for the group to "cool down"?

Same question after steaming: How long of a wait after steaming until the group is cooled down and ready to make espresso?

Lastly, is the lever easily disconnected (for mobile/travel carry)?

Thanks in advance!

If I'm remembering correctly, I thought Ross mentioned at some point, somewhere, that it was capable of 5 shots. Maybe that was simply before needing a refill. I'll try to dig through update emails and whatnot to see whether I can clarify that.

Edit:
In a recent update email he mentioned, "We ensure the peak temperature of 4 shots in a row all lies within 2C of the set temperature. This accuracy is achieved with what we call a "perfect pull" where all of the air is bled out of the air release valve in the piston as explained in our unboxing video."

This is the million dollar question. Is the grouphead temp stabilized for back-to-back shots? If it is, the Argos could be an Olympia Cremina killer.

The shot temperature is stabilized, as I understand it. At least as I think of the control system, when the group head is cooler, the boiler temperature is higher, and vice versa. Within reason, I don't care what temperature the group head is running, just what is happening in the basket.
