The conclusion is that you are, almost, all drying the basket between shots. I only make consecutive shots at the weekend and, to save time, I just shake the basket after rinsing. I never questioned it with other previous machines either

@mdmvrockford seems to have tested the benefits of doing so.

I will start drying the basket. Theoretically, it makes sense, and knowing I am not potentially introducing channeling through the wet basket edges will make feeling good about it
