Shower screen popping solved. Used pre millennium LP Europiccola gasket. The gasket is both squared and deeper than the current round MCaL group to screen gasket.

Between order and chaos there is espresso.

Sweet! One of my gripes is the shallow stock baskets. What is your shot volume?

I'm going to add a vac breaker to ease the initial heat up vac lock.

Using the deep MCaL basket 17-17.5g of coffee. I vary the output volume depending on coffee used and espresso vs espresso for Americano, Cappuccino etc.. From 1.2x-1.8x output.

I love the MCAL basket. I purchased a 46.7mm Strietman basket with a tamper, but I slowly went back to the MCAL. I use that basket in both my Pavoni and MCAL for great results.

Good to hear.
Enjoyed working on it and learning its idiosyncrasies. Easy and consistent machine.

Now if I can find 1 place for all my parts I'd be in business.

I want to upgrade from the cruddy Ma-Ter pstat, piston gasket set, group gasket, shower screen, thermal safety, the spiffy MCaL PF basket, and vac breaker. Nobody that I've come across carries all. Ideas?

lamacchinadelcaffe has parts for the lusso (and other home levers). While no longer under the name SAMA, pontevecchio produces the same stuff still

* P-stat same as MCaL or PV Lusso. Ma-Ter 110 model.
* Piston gasket set, and shower screen same as MCaL. Used a pre millennium LP Europiccola shower screen gasket for better fit.
* Thermal safety. My machine did not come with one but one could be added. It did come with a safety OPV valve on boiler. Fully dismantled soaked and cleaned the original one.
* Vacuum breaker. My machine did not come with one. Could be added to modified boiler cap.

As stated above https://www.lamacchinadelcaffe.com/ carries parts for Ponte Vecchio Lusso as well as Elektra MCaL.
