The owner reaching out to offer parts couldn't be a better scenario for a refurb project.

Will post picture of puck post shot on next machine usage.

Picture of spent puck. Middle of the road water saturation, not soggy or practically powdery dry.
Did notice some holes or channeling though. Grind needs to be tightened up slightly and plan to reduce dose from 18g to 17.5 on next round.

And temperature...if you have changed the strip or start using thermocouple.

I need the idle and pulling temp.

How long did you have to wait to pull? Or whats your routine?

Thanks...appreciate it

Can't get thermal strip to register. Tried bbq thermometer with varying results. By memory touch noticing that the group takes 15 minutes post p.stat on and gauge steady showing 1.2bar. Heats up and group at temp total is about 30 minutes from time of turning switch on. Maybe insulation on boiler would help here. Espresso definitely hot enough just hard to get group temp to indicate temp.

That's what I get when temp taken on group surface. That temp seems too low for proper espresso but the water temp is higher and the espresso is very good. I don't think you're getting a stall just the nature of this group and machine.

Yes. Good to hear.

If you dont mind. Could you share a little more about the boiler cap modification?

Im using the old boiler cap with cut out silicon gasket to seal any leaks.

Used an old 1970 LP Europiccola boiler cap. Drilled hole enough to pass Club boiler cap slotted screw through. On the inside of cap drilled with large drill bit 21mm just deep enough to fit and lock original cap screw body. Used wire bristle drill bit to remove small amounts of Bakelite for tight fit. When flush the assembly locked in and held tight once slotted screw was tightened.

Thank you for the detailed instruction.

Please bear with me as the boiler cap is the one last thing left to do on mine.

Do you have any photos of the final modded cap?
