Great score! I had seen a few like that on eBay, but not that exact one. I think the one I saw was a 2 group.

I saw that and was wondering since I thought you'd put your money down. Couldn't be more perfect!

arcus wrote:$3500 sounds a lot better than $12,500! Nice score for sure :)
...and better than the ebay price! Impressed! Maybe there can be a story about negotiation skills somewhere!

Well the money I saved on the Athena went to a good cause. I just spoke with Compak and put my name on a white R120 coming back from the show for $2400. I'll use it as my bulk brew grinder as well as the occasional espresso just for fun. I also need a big flat to pair with my K10 conie, maybe an E8.

Also shopping for an RO System. I'm thinking a 300GPD RO unit with alkaline filter for mineral replenishment and a 40 gallon tank should do it.

Hard to make the argument for machine over man. 22 cappuccinos in 13 minutes:

The eagle has landed. The steam wands were replaced some point with levers instead of knobs. They said it was necessary to save the baristas carpal tunnel. This also the older single spring version.

Alan! I quite like that.... I am jealous. I have been frustrated with the groups on my machine and have contemplated replacing them. I have found a good deal on the newer "dual spring" groups and am thinking of buying them to replace my single spring groups. I would like to keep the single springs but one is a pre 2001 model and one is a post 2001 model. So they act differently to the same grind setting (130mm spring vs 140mm spring). I could replace the spring but I think I'd be happier/have more luck with new groups. Luckily you have all 3 groups the same.

I also love the steam lever upgrade. I love the levers on my Aurelia and they are way more ergonomic and easier to use. You should be happy with that upgrade for sure. Let us know how she performs! Again, super jealous.
