Quickmill Achille Gaskets (3 years later)

In May of 2017 I replaced the piston gaskets on my Quickmill Achille 0996 with Cafelat silicone gaskets. (you can read all about it here: More on Piston Gaskets - Quickmill Achille).
They have been working great, and I've geased them more or less annually. I was a little late this year (I usually remove and check the piston and grease the gaskets when I replace my water filter) but it was getting just a tad noisy, so I pulled it about a week ago.
This is what they looked like:
As I had mentioned in the earlier post, the lowest gasket was also the biggest gasket, and you can see the silicone chipping off. Not sure why, and I would say that three years wear is not that bad. I replace only that lowest gasket, re-greased, and all is good again. Perfectly quiet and a very smooth pull.
Still love this machine after all these years.
(edit: silicon to silicone. In the computer biz too long)

Thanks for the update - I installed cafelat silicon seals on my Profitec 800 two years ago and was just about to check and see how they were doing. By the by - I'm glad to see you posting again on your Achille - I really enjoyed your original posts of pulls on the machine from way back when.

Hi Dan,
Great to see that you still have (and enjoy) your Achille!
I still have mine too, and like you, really love this machine. Like you also, I have installed the Cafelat silicone seals.
I get great shots from my Achille that rival those from my Brugnetti Aurora...and that is truly something!
Keep Achille-ing!
Paolo

Dan...just wondering.....Did you just now install a standard Cafelat seal or one of the bigger seals like the one that was torn?
I have the standard ones in my Achille and have experienced no slipping.

I sort of stopped posting because everything is working so well!
Cross my fingers.
I still drop in occasionally to see how everyone is doing!
Thanks!
